Florida’s Corporate Coverage Counsel
Friedman P.A. concentrates on one thing: representing corporate clients with difficult insurance coverage issues. The firm’s representation is limited to representing policyholders. We do not represent insurance companies. Led by Robert Friedman, one of the leading Florida insurance lawyers, much of our work focuses on helping corporate clients structure their insurance programs and contractual relationships with their business partners to maximize the client’s protection against potential liabilities.
We work with the client’s insurance broker to help negotiate policy terms and to ensure that the client is properly protected given each client’s unique risk profile. We advise on and help draft indemnity agreements and insurance requirements language to maximize the use of additional insured coverage on other entities’ insurance. Many of our clients have significant layers of self-insurance. For clients that utilize captives, third-party claims administrators, and reinsurance, we help ensure that claims are managed appropriately, and insurance priority is honored, to avoid risk shifting to uninsured layers. When insurance coverage disputes arise, we help resolve them through negotiation, alternative dispute resolution, or litigation.
Our expertise is first-party commercial insurance (property, business income, crime and fidelity, and inland marine coverage) as well as all lines of commercial liability insurance: comprehensive general liability, directors and officers, environmental and pollution, intellectual property, professional liability (errors and omissions), fiduciary liability, and employment practices liability insurance.
